For Democracy and Human Dignity - Declaration of the Leibniz Association

Over the past few days, people all over Germany have made it clear that democracy, human dignity and the rule of law are unshakeable values of our society. Civil society has shown that our democracy is vibrant and resilient. The Leibniz Association - including IfADo - stands with the demonstrators and strongly supports the protest.

In the Leibniz Association, we work together on societal, economic and ecological issues in order to find answers to the pressing problems of our time. More than 20,000 employees from around 130 countries and with diverse immigration histories work on a wide range of scientific topics at the 96 Leibniz Research Centers. More than 200 people from 25 different countries work together at IfADo itself. This can only succeed with an open-minded attitude and a welcoming culture for all. Just like German society as a whole, we as a research community gain our strength through plurality and diversity.

We do not accept any attack on the core of our constitution and the basis of our society. With this declaration and in our daily interactions, we resolutely oppose discrimination, exclusion and xenophobia in our country.
