Presentation of the Biomedicine Sponsorship Awards Dortmund
On May 29, the “Verein zur Förderung der biomedizinischen und klinischen Forschung e.V.” (Association for the Promotion of Biomedical and Clinical Research) presented this year's awards for biomedicine. A total of five scientists from Dortmund research institutions were honored in a symposium at the MPI Dortmund and presented their research.

Mihael Vucur (unfortunately unable to attend due to illness) from the Clinic for Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Infectiology at the University of Düsseldorf is one of the researchers honored. He worked on his research on the influence of sublethal necroptosis on inflammation and liver cancer in cooperation with IfADo. Gavin Rice, Thorsten Wagner (joint winners of the Basic Research Award) and Malte Gersch (Young Scientist Award) from the MPI Dortmund and Benjamin Buchmüller (Young Scientist Award) from the TU Dortmund/Uni Princeton were also honored. The prize is endowed with 2,500 euros.
