Flexible Control of Behaviour

Head

Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Thomas Kleinsorge

The main research topics of this project group relate to processes of self-control. These are investigated both with respect to basic underlying processes and functions as well as in relation to work-related contexts. This approach necessitates a mixture and integration of laboratory-based and field research methods. Our laboratory-based research focuses on a functional characterization of specific processes of cognitive and behavioural control. The main focus of research in the field is on the circumstances and consequences of a chronic engagement of processes of self-control. Furthermore, we aim at employing research methods developed in the lab within applied contexts.
