Michael Nitsche is among the „Highly Cited Researchers” 2020

Prof. Dr. Michael Nitsche is one of the most frequently cited scientists in his research field worldwide. The IfADo director and neuroscientist can be found in the annual list of „Highly Cited Researchers“ of the US company Clarivate. Michael Nitsche is recognized for his exceptional research influence, demonstrated by the production of multiple highly-cited papers that rank in the top 1% by citations for field and year in the Web of Science.

Michael Nitsche studied psychology and medicine at the Georg-August University of Göttingen. He was habilitated in the field of neurology. In 2015, Michael Nitsche joined IfADo. He is focusing on methods of non-invasive brain stimulation and cognitive neuroscience. As scientific director, he heads the research department „Psychology & Neuroscience“.

More than 6,000 researchers, in 21 fields of the sciences and social sciences, and cross field categories were selected based on the number of highly cited papers (top 1% by citations in a field) they produced over an 11-year period from January 2009 to December 2019.
