The University of Duisburg-Essen (UDE) has awarded PD Dr. Silvia Capellino the title “Associate Professor” (in German: “Außerplanmäßige Professorin”). Silvia Capellino joined IfADo 2016 as head of the research group “Neuroimmunology” in the immunology department.
The group investigates the interaction between the central nervous system and the immune system. Silvia Capellino studied biology in Genoa and received her PhD in clinical and experimental immunology. In 2012 she habilitated in experimental medicine at the Medical Faculty of the University of Regensburg. She re-habilitated in December 2017. Since then, Silvia Capellino is an official member of the medical faculty of the UDE in the subject “Behavioural Immunology”.
