Clinical Microbiology

The Clinical Microbiology group studies the role of the gut microbiota in the gut-immune-brain-axis, mostly in population and patient cohorts. The ultimate aim is to develop non-pharmacological (co-)treatments, such as dietary strategies or probiotics, to protect mental health, reduce symptoms and support pharmacological treatment efficacy.
