Stadtradeln 2026: IfADo cycles nearly 2,000 kilometers for climate protection
Once again this year, researchers from IfADo took part in the “Stadtradeln” campaign. The nationwide initiative encourages participants to complete as many everyday journeys as possible by bicycle within a 21-day period. In addition to promoting sustainable mobility, the campaign highlights the importance of well-developed cycling infrastructure and demonstrates the positive impact that switching from cars to bicycles can have on climate protection.
In 2026, the IfADo team joined the challenge with 14 active cyclists and covered an impressive total of 1,982 kilometers. This effort resulted in savings of approximately 325 kilograms of CO2. The overall results for the city are equally encouraging: 369 teams from Dortmund collectively cycled more than 1.24 million kilometers, avoiding around 204 tonnes of CO2.
