IfADo passes evaluation with flying colors
The joint federal and state funding of the Leibniz research centre for Working Environment in Dortmund is to be continued. This is the recommendation of the Senate of the Leibniz Association following the conclusion of the regular scientific evaluation. The funding requirements are to be reviewed again after the regular seven-year cycle.
The IfADo achieves innovative, sometimes outstanding research results, according to the Senate of the Leibniz Association in its statement of the 26.11.2024. With the long-term Dortmund Vitality Study, the institute achieves a high level of visibility. It also contributes its expertise to important committees that draw up guidelines and laws.
The Institute has developed very well since the last evaluation. The establishment of a central unit for system modeling has built up joint methodological expertise and improved internal cooperation. The performance of the four departments of Toxicology, Immunology, Psychology/Neurobiology and Ergonomics was rated three times as “very good to excellent” and once as “very good”. The statement also emphasizes the strong increase in scientific employees and the high proportion of international employees.
The Senate recommends continuing along this path and further raising the profile and visibility of IfADo as an overall institute for research into the links between health and work requirements.
