Hannah Schade wins 7th APuZ-Science Slam in Leipzig

Dr. Hannah Schade, a scientist from the Department of Psychology and Neurosciences at the IfADo, convinced the audience at the 7th APuZ-Science Slam last Saturday with her slam "Gandalf against Burnout".

Hannah Schade explains at the ScienceSlam the process of the chronic stress

Dressed as Gandalf, Hannah Schade emphasized the importance of telling work stress "you're not welcome here", because burnout is an opponent that "overpowers your strength". However, with the "sword of mental switching off", it is still possible to stay healthy, even in a demanding and stressful job.

The Science Slam took place as part of the Leipzig Book Fair. Inspired by the motto of this year's book fair "Words move worlds", the motto of the Science Slam was "Science moves worlds". The event was organized by APuZ (Aus Politik und Zeitgeschichte), which is part of the Federal Agency for Civic Education (Bundeszentrale für politische Bildung/bpb).
