Between flashes of inspiration and neurostimulation - Amba Frese at the Science Slam in Berlin
Last Tuesday, Amba Frese took part in the Science Slam at the Volksbühne in Berlin. The researcher from the Leibniz Research Centre for Working Environment from the department of Psychology and Neurosciences was able to inspire the audience with her talk “Neurostimulation, nicotine and curiosity”.

In her talk, Amba Frese spoke about direct current stimulation and how this can improve functions in various regions of the brain, such as learning movements, and how nicotine influences the process. The focus was on healthy ageing. The audience was not left out of the talk either. Under the guidance of the scientist, the audience was able to learn how to find the motor cortex in themselves. They also gained a small insight into the working life of a scientist and learned how difficult it can be to find test subjects for studies.
For Amba Frese, the evening ended successfully as runner-up. The event was organized by the German Neurological Society. The proceeds went to the German Brain Foundation.
