„Neuroenhancement: Science or fiction?“ – that is the title of Dennis J.L.G. Schutter’s, Radboud University, Nijmegen, talk at IfADo.
The discovery that cognitive performance can be improved by administering weak electric currents directly to the scalp has opened up a host of new opportunities in the field of non-invasive neuromodulation. This development has not only caught the interest of behavioural scientists, clinicians, and the society at large, but also of commercial parties. This talk will provide a quantitative overview on the efficacy of weak electric currents in neuroenhancement. Limitations and future directions on its applicability will be discussed.
