Organisation
The IfADo is a member of the Leibniz Association and closely linked to the TU Dortmund.Besides, researchers of the institute teach at various universities in the vicinity. The parent organization of the institute is the "Forschungsgesellschaft für Arbeitsphysiologie und Arbeitsschutz e.V., Dortmund" which was founded in 1969.
Advisory Bodies
The Research Society for Occupational Physiology and Safety acts as parent organisation of the IfADo.
Due to local linkages the board of trustees function together with the assembly of members as supervisors of the scientific society.
Scientific consulting is provided by an advisory board that covers all relevant disciplines of research in the IfADo.
A local ethic committee advises on ethical questions for experimental research.
Scientific controlling
The IfADo is evaluated by the senate of the Leibniz Association every seventh year.
