Model 1 of the regeneration of the liver without CCl4:
One of the gains of the model is the possibility to modify the model parameters
and predict their influence on the process of regeneration. Here, we identified
the model parameter "coordinated cell orientation" (CCO) as crucial
for the regeneration process. When hepatocytes divide the orientation of daughter
cells is initially random. Later, the daughter cells realign orienting themselves
to the central vein. This process of realigning is termed CCO. In the present
simulation we deleted the model parameter CCO. As a result the degree of disorder
increases and the micro-architecture of the liver lobule is destroyed.
